While there are those who put their survival on the battlefield down to pure strength, while others rely on being able to withstand the blows of their foe. There are then those who do neither, seeking to land precision blows where they know it will hurt most, meanwhile dodging deftly out of harms way when their foe strikes back. These are the swashbucklers, masters of duels, and gentlemen of arms, who will always choose their rapier over any other, less refined weapon.

Class Features
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Swashbuckler is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and light armour. She is not proficient with any type of shield.
Weapon Finesse (Ex): At First Level, a Swashbuckler gains Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat.
Dancing Dueller (Ex): If a Swashbuckler has the feat 'Dervish Dance,' she may apply its benefits to rapiers as well as scimitars.
Canny Defence (Ex): At 2nd level, a Swashbuckler may add her Intelligence modifier to her AC, to a maximum of her level. This bonus is counted as part of her dexterity bonus. A Swashbuckler cannot use this ability when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Insightful Strike (Ex): At 3rd level, a Swashbuckler becomes able to place her finesse attacks where they deal greater damage. She applies her Intelligence bonus to damage rolls (in addition to any Strength bonus she may have) with any light weapon, as well as any other weapon that can be used with Weapon Finesse, such as a rapier. Targets immune to sneak attacks or critical hits are immune to the swashbuckler’s insightful strike, and this extra damage is counted as precision damage. A Swashbuckler cannot use this ability when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Evasion (Ex): At 4th level, a Swashbuckler gains Evasion, as the Rogue Class Feature.
Grace (Ex): At 4th level, a Swashbuckler gains a +2 competence bonus on all Reflex saving throws. A Swashbuckler loses this bonus when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Precision Defence (Ex): At 5th level, a Swashbuckler learns to avoid leaving openings for precision strikes. She gains DR2/- against any form of precision damage (this includes damage such as sneak attacks) as long as she is conscious and aware of the attack. This DR increases to 4/- at 10th level, and 6/- at 15th. Note that this only applies to the actual precision damage, not any other damage done in the same attack. A Swashbuckler cannot use this ability when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Mobility (Ex): At 6th level, a Swashbuckler gains the Mobility feat, even if she does not qualify for it.
Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 7th level, a Swashbuckler gains Uncanny Dodge, as the Rogue class feature. However, a Swashbuckler loses this when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Improved Flanking (Ex): At 8th level, a Swashbuckler gains a +4 bonus to hit a flanked enemy, instead of +2. This does not affect the bonus applied to allies flanking that enemy. A Swashbuckler cannot use this ability when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Acrobatic Charge (Ex): At 9th level, a Swashbuckler may charge over difficult terrain that normally slows movement. She may still need to make appropriate checks to successfully move over the terrain. A Swashbuckler cannot use this ability when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Lucky (Ex): At 11th level, a Swashbuckler gains a +1 luck bonus to saving throws, and a +1 luck bonus to AC.
Acrobatic Mastery (Ex): At 12th level, a Swashbuckler becomes certain of her ability at acrobatics. A Swashbuckler counts a roll of a 4 or lower on acrobatics checks as a 5, even in combat. If she could normally take 10 on an acrobatics check, she may instead take 15. A Swashbuckler cannot use this ability when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Weakening Critical (Ex): At 13th level when a Swashbuckler scores a critical hit against a creature with a weapon that deals piercing damage also deals 2 points of Strength damage to the creature. Creatures immune to critical hits are immune to this effect.
Incredible Flanking (Ex): At 16th level, any ally flanking the same enemy as the Swashbuckler gains a +4 bonus instead of a +2 to attack that flanked enemy. A Swashbuckler cannot use this ability when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered.
Wounding Critical (Ex): At 17th level when a Swashbuckler scores a critical hit against a creature with a weapon that deals piercing damage also deals 2 points of Constitution damage to the creature. Creatures immune to critical hits are immune to this effect. This is in addition to the Strength damage from Weakening Critical.
Improved Evasion (Ex): At 18th level, a Swashbuckler gain Improved Evasion, as the Rogue Talent.
Dancing Death (Ex): At 20th level, a Swashbuckler becomes immune to precision damage, dancing out-of-the-way of carefully made strikes, as long as she is conscious and aware of the attack. She also increases the critical threat range on any one-handed weapon she wields which inflicts piercing damage by 1 (after any multipliers).
A Swashbuckler cannot avoid precision damage when wearing medium or heavy armour or when encumbered, but still gains the bonus to critical threat range.
Author's Note: This class is based partly on the Duellist prestige class, and partly on the 3.5 class.
