Knights of a psionic order, these warriors do not train as hard in the ways of psionics as a psychic warrior, but train harder with a blade. They spend much of their time in meditation, and understand that focus in battle is everything.

Psi-Knights generally serve some higher cause, though it is not necessarily religious, in fact it is often in the name of a monarch that they fight, rather than any deity. Regardless of what brings them to fight, all Psi-Knights are masters of the blade, and have deadly focus with it.

Alignment: Although they tend towards Lawful, Psi-Knights may be of any alignment.

Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Psi-Knight is proficient with all Simple and Martial weapons, Heavy armour, and all shields except tower shields.

Powers: A Psi-Knight takes powers from the psychic warrior power list. He first gains a power at 5th level. Until 5th level, he has no powers, and a manifester level of 0. From 5th level onwards, his manifester level is equal to his Psi Knight Level – 4, so at 7th level, his manifester level is 3.

A Psi-Knight must have a Charisma score of 10 + power level to cast a given power. His power's DCs are equal to 10 + Power Level + Charisma Modifier. He gains extra power points dependant on his charisma modifier. Levels of Psi-Knight before powers are gained still grant bonus power points as normal, even though they do not grant manifester levels.

Distorting Blade (Sp): As part of an attack action, a Psi-Knight may expend his psionic focus to distort the abilities of a hit caster or manifester. The Psi-Knight must declare he is using this ability before making an attack, if he hits with that attack, the creature hit must take a concentration check (DC = 10 + Psi-Knight Level + Psi-knight's Charisma Modifier) in order to cast any spells or manifest any powers for a number of rounds equal to the Psi-Knight's charisma modifier, to a maximum of his number of Psi-Knight Levels. This concentration check is in addition to any other check the affected character is called on to make. If the attack misses, he still loses psionic focus.

Soul's Calling (Sp): At first level, a Psi-Knight takes his first orders as a knight. As long as he maintains psionic focus, he gains a +1 to his attack and damage rolls. This bonus increases by 1 at fifth level and every fifth level thereafter. He may expend his psionic focus to double the bonus for one attack, he must declare before rolling to attack, and if he misses, he still loses psionic focus.

Psionic Grace (Su): At 2nd level, whenever he is called on to make a save, a Psi-Knight may, as a free out-of-turn action before he rolls his save, spend power points up to his psi-knight level to increase all his saves by the number of points expended until the beginning of his next action. This may be done once per round.

Psionic Weapon: At 3rd level, a Psi-knight gains Psionic Weapon as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisite.

Double Focus (Su):
At 4th level, a Psi-Knight may gain psionic focus twice at the same time. This does not increase any passive bonuses from having psionic focus, but allows you to spend psionic focus once while remaining focused. If a Psi-Knight has the Psionic Meditation feat, he may spend a full-round action to become focused twice at the same time. Otherwise, each time he focuses, he must spend a full-round action.

Note that, if one feat or class feature grants a bonus for being psionically focused and for expending psionic focus, you cannot gain both bonuses simultaneously from this class feature. For example, when using psionic weapon, if you expend your psionic focus to power the feat, you gain only +2d6 extra damage, not 2d6+1.

Combat Manifestation: At 6th level, a Psi-knight gains Combat Manifestation as a bonus feat.

Deep Focus (Su): At 7th level, when using an attack which requires the expenditure of psionic focus, if that attack misses, the Psi-Knight might still maintain his focus. If the Psi-Knight has, for any reason, used a special attack that requires he expend his psionic focus and make an attack roll, and he misses, if he would normally still lose his psionic focus, he may attempt a DC 25 concentration check to regain psionic focus immediately, but if he succeeds he may not expend the regained psionic focus until his next round.

Psychic Concentration (Su): At 7th level, a Psi-Knight gains a +2 to all concentration checks while maintaining psionic focus. At 18th level, this is increased to +4.

Burst of Strength (Su): At 8th level, whenever a Psi-Knight expends his psionic focus, he gains a +2 insight bonus to strength for a number of rounds equal to his charisma modifier.

Greater Psionic Weapon: At 9rd level, a Psi-knight gains Greater Psionic Weapon as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisites.

Sudden Movement (Su): At 11th level, a psi-knight may expend psionic focus as an immediate action to use his move action for his next round out-of-turn. Assuming he uses this to move, he is subject to attacks of opportunity as normal. He may not use this move action to meditate. During his next round, the psi-knight may only make a standard action (he has used a swift action on his immediate action, and has used his move action).

Psionic Body: At 12th level, a Psi-knight gains Psionic Body as a bonus feat.

Burst of Resilience (Su): At 13th level, whenever a Psi-Knight expends his psionic focus, he gains a +2 insight bonus to constitution for a number of rounds equal to his charisma modifier. This is in addition to the bonus to strength granted by Burst of Strength.

Incredible Focus: At 16th level, a Psi-Knight automatically passes the concentration check from Deep Focus.

I will Not Bow (Su): At 17th level, when a Psi-knight is reduced to negative hit points, even if they are sufficient to kill him, he may expend psionic focus as an immediate action to bring himself back to 0 hit points. He is then staggered as normal, or if he has taken non-lethal damage, becomes unconscious. To use this ability, he must be conscious before the action that reduces his hit points to negative occurs, and this cannot be used to avoid death-effects or death from ability score damage, only death by hit point damage.

Knight of the Soul (Su): At 20th level, a Psi-Knight become a master of psionic focus. He may meditate to gain psionic focus as a standard action, or if he has the Psionic Meditation feat, as a swift action or any greater action (this allows him to mediate as a swift action, then a move or standard action, and gain psionic focus twice in one round). In addition, once per day, he may expend two uses of his psionic focus to make an attack which inflicts extra damage equal to (6+his charisma modifier)d6. The target must then make a will save (DC 15 + the psi-knight's charisma modifier) or die. When this ability is used, the psi-knight may not meditate until the end of his following round.
