Spell Geometry (Metamagic)
Spell Geometry enables the caster to alter how and where a spell will manifest.
Prerequisites
Spell Mastery
Benefit
Using advanced knowledge of mathematics and geometry, the caster can change the location and direction a spell manifests. Range, Effect, or Area limitations still apply. Line of Effect will not limit casting. So, a fireball can be angled around an obstacle rather than straight at the target, but it is still limited by the range and area of effect of fireball. A sleep spell could be cast through a window to affect those within a building. A lightning bolt could be made to manifest across a room from left to right in front of the caster rather than emanating from the caster. The Shape of the spell cannot be altered with Spell Geometry. So a cone of cold could be caused to blast down from above to catch a flock of harpies, but it would still be a cone with dimensions based on caster level – and range restrictions still apply. A stinking cloud could be turned on its side to disable a swarm of bats down a narrow passageway. A flame strike could be changed from a vertical column to a horizontal column, etc. This feat can only alter spells which have a physical manifestation.
This feat may only be applied to spells that can be prepared without a spell book per the Spell Mastery prerequisite.
Normal
Spells must manifest per their written mechanics.
