This sizable monocle looks like a large, round lens attached to a nose bridge, worn over a single eye. Attached to the lens are multiple smaller lenses that can be placed over the primary lens by a mechanism controlled by a small dial on its side. However, one must do so with utmost care, as not to break the delicate clockwork that makes the mechanism work.

The large, primary lens of the monocle has no effect. However, using the mechanism to add one of three additional lenses grants a +1 bonus to Disable Device, Appraise, and Perception (for finding traps only). Additional lenses can bring these bonuses to +3. However, each lens added also incurs a -1 penalty to all attack rolls, AC, and sight-based Perception checks not related to trapfinding. Therefore, one must be careful not to use it in situations where combat is likely to occur, as it takes a move action to carefully add or remove a lens (or take off the monocle entirely).
Author's Note: Very good for merchant/rogue types. I have a character who wears one of these all the time - it was originally going to be a flavor-only thing, but we ended up making rules for it.
