Crocuta (Hyena Folk)

Crocuta are a hardy race of people. No one is quite sure where they came from, tough magic seems to be quite prevalent in their society. Almost all members of their race are capable of preforming at least some sort of magic.

They live in very tight knit clans, always led by a matriarch. With in their people females are the strong ones, often becoming warriors and fighters. Males are known for being priests, druids and warlocks. Both male and females will follow the paths of bardhood, paladin.

Classes: Crocuta never take the rogue class.

Alignment: Crocuta are never chaotic.

Crocuta follow many deities, though all of them seem to worship a being they refer to Zyzaria the Clawmother. They are also prevalent in element and ancestor worship. Zyzaria seems to be their first ancestor, thought they do not speak much of their religion with other races.

Crocuta Racial Traits

+2 Strength, +2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom, -4 Dexterity: Despite being slightly smaller than a human, Crocuta are still an extremely tough race that are much stronger than they look. Don't let their feral look fool you, they posses a great respect for the land. In battle they don't focus on dodging, avoiding is a coward's way. And they are not cowards.

Medium Size: Skyren are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.

Normal Speed: Skyren have a base land speed of 30 feet.

Honorable:  Crocuta +4 to initiave rolls, however cannot flee battle.

Strong Jaw: Crocuta bite attacks are always critical.

Keen Senses: Crocuta receive a +2 bonus on all Perception checks.

Matriarchy: Females gain a +2 on all intimidate rolls.

Ages: Infant (0-3), Child (3-14), Adolecent (14-20), Adult (20-100), Middle Age (100-125), Old Age (125- 145), Venerable (145-150).

Author's Note: Thought it would be a good idea, since there was nothing for a hyena people. I did my best not to make them mindless savages like they are so often portrayed. (like the gnolls of WoW). They are very much based off a spotted hyena.
