The Half-Human Template is an acquired or inherited template that can be applied to any aberration, animal, magical beast, dragon, or vermin. Once applied, the base creature's type can be chosen as its starting type or monstrous humanoid. Once this choice is made it cannot be changed. The Half-Human Template is intended not only for creatures with human blood, but also evolved versions of the base creature as well as the results of magical experiments.
The creature's CR is raised by +1. They gain the following changes.
Manual Dexterity: The creature's two front-most limbs gain hands with opposable thumbs. It takes no penalties on handling objects and can potentially use any skill requiring the use of hands. If the creature had no limbs to begin with, they grow a pair of arms with fully functional hands. The creature retains all natural attacks associated with these effected limbs.
Sentient Intelligence: The creature gains an Intelligence boost of +4 up to a maximum score of 10. If the creature's already had an Intelligence score of 10 or higher, then it remains unchanged. Vermin lose their Mindless ability but gain a +4 racial bonus against mind-influencing effects. The creature gains the ability to speak and knows one language of its choice.
Social: The creature is able to gain class levels instead of racial hit dice. They also gain two human racial traits of its choice.
Stand Tall: If the creature is a quadruped, then it becomes bipedal. Its base speed does not change, but it loses its quadruped resistance to Trip Combat Maneuvers. Creatures who cannot be tripped retain this ability.
