Shadow Elf

Shadow Elves are lanky like most elf races but are a race of banished Forest Elves who retreated the depths of Dranda called the Underearth. A large network of crystal light caves which connect the entire planet. Though there can be some light the banished elves were living practically in darkness and when exposed to the magical crystals began to shortly, over a few generations, adept. Their skin became pale, their eyes are super sensitive able to see very well in dim light and relatively well in darkness, their eyes elongated giving them greatly enhanced hearing. In the subterranean land they meet the Dragoon, a race of reptilian humanoids decedent of dragons and continue to keep good relations between the two.

Physical Description: Shadow Elves are slightly taller than normal humans and even taller than most elves considering their elongated sensitive ears, they hair color is usually black or dark blue to purple. Their eyes come in a variety of cool colors such as purple, violet, and midnight blue but can also, though rarely, show crimson. Half-elves of shadow elf descent always have irises of crimson sometimes showing within human bloodlines for many generations. Shadow Elves can live to be roughly 300 years old (Dranda Elves age three times slower than humans).

Shadow Elf Racial Traits

+2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution, +2 Charisma

Medium Size: Shadow elves are Medium Creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to size.

Normal Speed: Shadow elves have a base speed of 30 feet.

Sensitive Vision: Shadow elves can see in the dark up to 100 feet. Bright light blinds a shadow elf's sensitive eyes and any exposure to such a light will blind them for 3 rounds and stagger them for each round they remain in sunlight. If they remain in the bright light without protection for 5 rounds they will permanently be blind.

Sensitive Ears: A shadow elf receives +5 bonus to Perception checks when sound is involved. In addition, they can fight based off sound only. Creatures do not get a concealment bonus if the character is blinded or the creature is invisible. This functions like the feat Blind Fight, but the shadow elf does not gain this bonus if the creature makes no sound. Sound based attacks do a bonus nonlethal damage equal to half the total recieved and stagger the Shadow Elf for 2 rounds from when the damage occurred.

Dark Elven Immunity: Shadow elves are immune to sleep magic and have +2 racial saving throw against necromancy spells or effects.

Exotic Weaponry:  Shadow elves treat Shadow Katana and Daggerlances as martial weapons.

Languages
: Shadow elves begin speaking Undercommon and Elven. Shadow elves with high intelligence can choose Common, Draconic, Abyssal, Gnome, and Goblin.

Author's Note: Another creation from my story though set in Pathfinder rules. All stories seem to have some version of dark elves, but for the Drow I just felt like something was missing, especially annoyed how all subterrian races seem to have their skin darkened instead of lighten due to lack of light? Seems silly but I digress the Shadow Elves are slightly more extreme in many cases I believe than the drow and fit easier in a normal campaign.
