You summon an exact illusory duplicate of one or more creatures, totaling up to 6 hit dice. The copies each appear in any square adjacent to their originals (your choice) and act immediately, on your turn. They are treated the same way as monsters summoned by Shadow Conjuration.

A shadow copy has one-fifth the hit points of the original (regardless of whether it's recognized as shadowy). It deals normal damage and has all normal abilities and weaknesses, as well as functional copies of all equipment the original was carrying at the time of the spellcasting. Ongoing spell effects that aren't granted by an item the original was carrying are not copied. Against a creature that recognizes it as a shadow copy, however, the shadow copy's damage is one-fifth (20%) normal, and all special abilities that do not deal lethal damage are only 20% likely to work. (Roll for each use and each affected character separately.) Furthermore, the shadow copy's AC bonuses are just one-fifth as large. Any ongoing effects caused by the shadow copy end immediately as soon as the copy is dismissed (whether by the spell's caster or by the ending of the spell's duration) or defeated.

A creature that succeeds on its save sees the shadow copies as transparent images superimposed on vague, shadowy forms. Objects automatically succeed on their Will saves against this spell.
