Bugbear Oni are brutal and efficient. Like the goblinoids with whom they share traits, the Bugbear Oni revels in pain and destruction. They do not have a caste classification (making them held in lower esteem than "mortals") and most of the other Oni races would rather they didn't exist at all. The Bugbear Oni know this but would rather prey on weaker non-oni than try to fight back against even a low ranking Tengu Oni. Bugbear Oni females are slightly smaller than the males but no less fearsome. Bugbear Oni are used primarily as shock troops or as dungeoneers, when they can be coerced into service.

Standing between 7 and 8 feet tall and weighing roughly 400 pounds, the bugbear oni is an intimidating brute. They look even more fearsome and bestial than the bugbear whose form they typically assume.
