These beings are more bestial than even their smaller companions, but are immensely more powerful and far larger.

These hulking creatures are unlike the standard drakes most people are aware of. They breed quickly, the females laying many clutches and the males simply fertilizing the eggs while flying over the clutch. Gestation is only two to three months, and do not need to be nested, the eggs being able to endure all but the most extreme of temperatures. Greater drakes are a strange type of dragon, having absolutely no magical powers or innate abilities to spell casting. They are powerful opponents, though they have little intelligence much like their smaller kin.
Greater drakes are eat ash; they can survive on almost anything and do so. For whatever reason they seem to especially enjoy the taste and texture of ash.
A greater drake’s breath weapon is not supernatural; it is a combination of chemicals held separate in sacks on either side of the jaw. When fired, they meet in air like a cobra’s venom spit. The combination of the chemicals react when they meet in air and create a naturally occurring napalm. Because of this, dead magic zones, dispel magic, and other effects that alter a dragon’s breath weapon are not able to affect the breath weapon of a Greater Drake. They do not breath every d4 rounds, but rather can sustain their breath for up to fifty rounds. These rounds do not need to be consecutive, but they can be consecutive all the way up to the full fifty rounds.
