Sheriff Braeger Sudiman, 7th Level Hellknight

Sheriff Braeger Sudiman believes strongly in the law, and in enforcing it to the maximum extent.  The only laws he doesn't believe in are the ones recently passed by "those chaotic fools" which are intended to protect the rights of the accused (that is to say, the guilty sinners), preventing most forms of torture for the purposes of information gathering and confession extraction.  These are just sissy laws, and they don't count in your case, anyway.

TACTICS
If Braeger is trying to take in a captive, he will usually try to take him without a fight, using a simple intimidate if there is only a single opponent, or Dazzling Display if there are several.  (Note that he is extremely intimidating.)  He will tell the suspect that he will not be harmed and will be given a fair trial.  He doesn't mention the torture.

Once in combat, he will try to sunder the opponent's weapon first, leaving him unarmed and yelling at him to surrender.  Only if the opponent clearly has several backup weapons on him will he simply attack normally.  Since he acquired "Farhad's Shield" some years ago, he has become quite proficient with the maneuver.  (He has taken Improved Sunder and Greater Sunder feats.)  If one opponent seems most dangerous, he will use his "Smite Chaos" ability on that opponent unless he has reason to believe that opponent is not chaotic.  He will try to take out that opponent first, unless he is particularly well armored.

Farhad's Shield: It is a +2 shield with special notched edges and a gripping surface to catch and hold an opponent's weapon.  It provides +2 to all sundering attempts by the wearer.  In addition, if the opponent rolls a natural 1 on his attack, the wearer of Farhad's shield gets a sunder attempt as an Attack of Opportunity.  The shield provides +2 on this sunder attack, as well.

PERSONALITY
It's important to understand as a GM that Sheriff Sudiman does not think of himself as evil, but as a force for good.  He truly wants to protect the good people of the village from the miscreants of the world.  He 'does what has to be done' in order to accomplish it.  Also, he does not ever want to extract a false confession.  He will use his detect lie ability along with his torture methods to extract only true ones.  Of course, if it turns out that the prisoner, who is certainly a piece of scum, is not guilty of the crime of which he was accused, well, he's probably guilty of something, and we'll find out what it is, won't we?
