Reverse Dart Trap
There are dart holes in the floor, ceiling, and walls for a distance of 20 ft. Do you dare cross?
Reverse Dart Trap
CR 10 (9,600 XP)
Type mechanical; Perception DC 1
Disable Device DC none
Trigger location; Reset automatic
Effect Atk +25 ranged (1d3 plus purple worm poison)
The entire length of a corridor (floor, ceiling, and walls) contains small holes spaced 6 inches apart. If the trap is activated, small darts tipped with poison shoot out from the holes. Any character within the area is attacked by 2d10 darts. A button exists 10' down the corridor on the wall with a Perception DC 20. If this button is pressed, the trap activates. Otherwise, the trap does not activate. As there is no Disable Device DC, the trap cannot be deactivated.
Author's Note: This trap is designed to outwit the PCs with reverse psychology. Believing that there is a deactivation mechanism that they cannot see, the PCs may choose to avoid the corridor entirely. If the PCs believe the hidden button disables the trap, they may be tempted to use it and actually activate the trap.
